What this app is

Money Habits is a personal-finance planning app for Indian households. It projects the year you could retire from your own savings, income, expenses and inflation assumptions, and lets a family plan toward that number as one household rather than as separate people with separate spreadsheets.

FIRE projections — the year financial independence becomes possible, and what moves it.
Family mode — one shared household plan, so everyone is looking at the same goal.
Budgeting — income and expenses in lakhs and crores, the way the numbers are actually spoken.
Investments — holdings in one place, with a consolidated portfolio view.
Insurance planning — an estimate of the term cover a household actually needs.

Money Habits is a planning and tracking tool. It is not a bank, a lender, or an investment adviser, and it does not give financial advice.

Where your data lives

Your financial plan is stored in a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. That is the source of truth — not a server of ours. It is why the plan survives reinstalling the app and follows you between devices, and it means you can open, export or delete it yourself at any time without asking us.

Receipts are read on your device. Receipt images are not uploaded anywhere for processing.

Why the app asks for Google permissions

To sign you in with Google and show your name and photo in the app.

.../auth/spreadsheets
To read and write your own Money Habits sheet, where your plan is stored. In family mode, this is also what lets members of one household read and update the shared family sheet.

.../auth/drive.file
To create and find the app's own spreadsheet and backup files. drive.file is limited to files this app created or that you explicitly pick — the app cannot see the rest of your Drive.

.../auth/drive.appdata
To keep a small amount of hidden setup state in Drive's application-data folder, so your configuration survives a reinstall.

Money Habits' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Privacy, and deleting your data

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Community benchmark contributions are opt-in and off by default. The deletion page below covers removing your account and the data associated with it.
