Money Habits — Delete Your Account & Data

This page explains how to delete your Money Habits account and the data associated with it. Money Habits is a personal-finance planning app that signs you in with your Google account.

How to request account & data deletion

You can request deletion in either of these ways:

Option 1 — Email us

  1. From the Google account you use to sign in, email habits.app.support@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my Money Habits account".
  2. We verify the request against the sending email and delete your account data within 30 days.

Option 2 — Delete it yourself

  1. Sign out in the app (Settings → Sign out) to clear the local copy of your data on your device.
  2. Your financial plan is stored in a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. Open Google Drive and delete the Money Habits sheet and any Money Habits backup files to remove that data permanently.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Account registry entry (your Google user ID, email, display name) Deleted from our backend within 30 days of your request.
Family / membership records tied to your account Deleted (your membership is removed; shared family records you do not solely own remain with the family).
Your financial plan (budget, investments, projections) Stored in your own Google Drive — delete it directly from Drive at any time. It is not held on our servers.
Anonymous community-benchmark ("pool") contributions Only present if you opted in (off by default). These are anonymized and cannot be linked back to you; anonymized aggregate statistics may be retained because they contain no personal data.
Crash and diagnostic logs Automatically expire and are deleted within 90 days.

Deleting only some of your data

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. Within the app you can delete individual transactions, assets, and records, and you can delete your Money Habits Google Sheet from Drive, at any time.
